Trust-Worthy?

Trust-Worthy?

The one who manages the little he has been given with faithfulness and integrity will be promoted and trusted with greater responsibilities. But those who cheat with the little they have been given will not be considered trustworthy to receive more. Luke 16:10 TPT

Very clear message: do not expect anything greater or bigger than your present level of accountability and responsibility. We aspire to great heights; we want to be encrusted with great assignments; we desire higher responsibilities. We love to hear other people's stories, but we care nothing about the journey and their private dealings. We seem to forget that the first thing we must do is sort out our hearts.

Why the heart? Because that is the place of the battle. That is where the reactions and expectations are settled long before they are called into manifestation. Did you think that Daniel's resolve not to eat the king's meat was a sudden one? No, he had taken time to study and know what God wanted for them, and he had made up his mind not to compromise. David was complex, but his heart was simple: as soon as he knew he had sinned, there was no pretence or self-denial; he just went straight to God and asked for mercy. Little wonder these lives became the types we read about and learn from today.

If God cannot trust my heart, how does He commit great treasures into my hands? If my heart is not His to control, how does he guarantee the safety and sanctity of his work and Word in my hand? And of course, he starts with the litttle things, the hidden, private lessons where no one else can see. He deals with me in private, away from public eyes, away from human applause, so He can test and certify my trust-worthiness. When He knows my heart is all His, then and only then can He trust me with all of Himself.

If you see a man prospering in God's work, celebrate the God in Him, who sees the heart. If you see a man that God is using in any way, celebrate the God who knows just how and where best each vessel fits. And then for myself, I go to God and ask Him to deal with all that limits his power and grace in me. If I will go higher and deeper with God, I must pay the price in devotion, commitment, time investment and faithfulness in the little secret things. God alone can do the most mighty things with the most ordinary vessel that is totally surrendered to Him. His time of favour is here.
