Fashioned!

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Ephesians 2:10 KJV

I am not the usual, the normal or the expected; I am fashioned by an extraordinary God to impact the world I have been placed in. I note the first sentence is in the present tense, which tells me that as long as I am alive, I am never quite the finished article in terms of usage. I am complete in God because all I need for life and Godliness have been provided in Him, but there is no limit to how and where God can decide to plant me for impact.

Workmanship denotes art, precision and beauty. When you see a life that God uses, it may not start pretty, but check out the end of ALL men who were used by God. Their errors, mistakes and emotions all became mighty tools in the hands of the Mighty God to do mighty things. It matters in whose hands you are and who is using you. The beauty of my life is seen in what Christ is able to do in and through me. Note the order: created in Christ to do good works. Good works done in and through Christ are what generates eternal reward. Ask Cornelius: he was a good man, spoken well by all who knew Him, but God still sent Peter to preach the gospel of Christ to him. It goes beyond being good; it is first about being IN Christ.

And the plans of God are eternal in nature and impact. God doesn't do things by half; He is the one who ordains things from before the foundation of the earth was laid, and He keeps things moving by His mighty power. His plans cannot be thwarted, and His purpose will endure to all generations. He calls me to walk with and work for Him, which is an amazing privilege.

I am not my own master, or the determinant of my own fate; that is God's prerogative. I am only safe when I am in His hands, and doing what He has commissioned. So, the questions: who is the throne and authority behind your present pursuits and priorities? Who is your guiding light and partner? Do you know who you are or who you belong to? That understanding is so fundamental to all that I can become and achieve in this present earthly phase. His time of favour is here.
