If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Colossians 3:1 KJV
There is a big IF at the start of today's extract and it is an important IF. All of God's promises hinge on my full surrender. There is really no eternal promise of God that does not place an earthly demand on me. If I will enjoy all that is promised, I have to align with all that is demanded. Just like promises, so also is access to all that God has provided for life and Godliness. If He lays down a condition for me to access His throne of grace, He will also supply the grace and strength required to align with the condition.
The big IF goes to my foundation and identity. Do I know who I am, who I belong to and what I have been placed on earth to do? Am I risen with Christ, or still dead in sin? Until I rise with Christ, I cannot enjoy all that is provided above, where Christ sits. Yes, there are general provisions for the world: rain, snow, harvest, increase, but these all come to the good and the bad. There is a level of grace and supply that's available where Christ sits, and only those who have surrendered their lives to Him have access to that level.
You don't get it by influence, connection, power, position, bank account balance, or all the other things the world celebrates. It is by your position in Christ: be where He is. That is key. Don't fight for what the world gives, because the world itself can't give you what only Christ can. When I am where Christ is, my thoughts and actions are guided by that position. The earthly becomes the practice ground for the eternal. I audit my life again: where am I right now? With Christ, or with the world? Both have eternal consequences. God's time of favour is here.
