Daily Delight!

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord , and who meditates on his law day and night. Psalm 1:1‭-‬2 NIV

We all desire blessings from God. In fact, all of us ascribe our visible signs of 'success' to God, even if we have gone outside God to get them. We are creatures who have been given a mandate to increase and multiply and we are only fulfilled when we are pursuing that purpose. How then do we get God to bless what we do? How do I align myself with what God is doing?

1. I must watch where I walk, where and how I stand and where I sit. Indeed, I must watch every output of my life so that God can be glorified thereby. It is a misnomer for a child of God to be engaged in activities that God has expressly forbidden. It is improper for a child of God to live in sin. It is an abomination for a child of God to sit with those who mock everything about God. It is not about seeking to be popular; it is about knowing the God you have and what he wants, so that you can please him daily.

2. It is not an  occasional thing,  but a daily living. You do not walk with God some days of the week and walk with the world the other days. The risk of pollution is high. You must fix your eyes on the goal- pleasing God- and ignore all distractions and detours.

3. There is nothing like an empty vessel. At every point in time in your life, you are either being filled with something, or you are giving out something. You can never give out what you do not have, neither can you make a withdrawal of good things out of an account that you have not invested anything good.

4. The priority must be knowing and following God daily. The world understands the power of knowledge. It has a wealth of information and resources to hep build a well- read and knowledgeable person, but it has no eternal value without a true knowledge of God. The world cannot fill that void, because it does not know or acknowledge God. God's Word clearly tells us about God, and his demands on us. As we walk with him daily, seeking his will for our lives  and doing what he pleases, we are blessed beyond measure. As we read about him daily, we know him more intimately and his desire becomes our ultimate pursuit.

Can this be said about me? Is that the testimony of my life? Have I allowed the world's style dictate terms for me? Is walking with God a daily or seasonal thing? His time of favour is here.
