Divine Seal!

and [pray] that we will be rescued from perverse and evil men; for not everyone has the faith. But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen you [setting you on a firm foundation] and will protect and guard you from the evil one. 2 THESSALONIANS 3:2- 3 AMP

We live in strange times. Innocent lives are taken for no just cause, men act as if they personally own and hold the keys to eternity, we act as if we are not accountable to anyone. All over the world, persecution and evil seem to be gaining ground. Part of the reason for this sorry state of affairs is given in today's extract: 'not everyone has the faith'. Sounds simple, but in effect, the output of your life is determined by the value of your inner content. What your life produces can never be different from the qualities and personality of your  control centre. If your faith is in mental or physical things, you are in trouble, because God assures us that all we hold and own today will be destroyed one day by unquenchable fire.

When confronted by evil, what is your reaction? When things don't go the way you have planned it, and pressure mounts to compromise or stand down, what motivates you to go on? Paul had experienced God like never before, so his words here give hope: God is faithful. That statement is true for all eternity. It has been true long before the world as we see it was formed, and it will remain so for all eternity. When nothing else works, God works. When human support fails, God never leaves. When weakness threatens, his strength is available. When danger lurks, he says 'I am your refuge'. There is no situation so dire that God is not aware of or made adequate provision to solve. How he solves it is his prerogative; how we respond to him is our choice.

Check your foundations today. Are they set on the feeble, temporal comforts around you? Have you founded your faith on the unchangeable and immovable foundation of faith in God and his finished work through Christ? Remember, 'Faith' is a daily walk with God, even when you don't understand his leading. His time of favour is here.
