God's Timing

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God [set aside self-righteous pride], so that He may exalt you [to a place of honor in His service] at the appropriate time, 1 PETER 5:6 AMP

God is always at work - that has been a settled and indisputable  truth. He is also looking for someone after his heart, someone who he can visit, empower and use to make impact in his/her generation for him. You could wonder why the mighty God, with the mighty hand, would still be looking for people, when he has power to command anyone to do his will.  This is where God's nature is even more mysterious- he seeks our cooperation as he moves to change the world around us.

First of all, we must humble ourselves. The responsibility of placing our hearts before God, asking for his help daily is ours. God will do the work, but we must do the submitting of our own free will. If you wait for God to do the humbling, disgrace usually follows.

Secondly, God's mighty hand is the major factor in our decision. If we acknowledge God's power, we will not be forced to submit to him. It appears that sin has blinded us to our own limitations and inadequacies, and we have been deceived into thinking that we are self-sustaining, without any need of help from God. A life that has surrendered to Christ knows the difference between reliance on self and total dependence on God. The consequences of both are obvious all around us.

Thirdly, when I know God is always at work, it means that I will not miss my day of visitation and manifestation, as long as I stay true to purpose. I cannot announce myself; I cannot claim to have arrived. It has never been about me and my gifts in the first place; it is always about God and his glory. My life and its gifts are the medium through which God wants to work to bring out his glory in our lives. I must therefore allow him work, allow him deal with me, and allow him use me how, when and where he pleases. After all, it is his creation, his gifts and his platform; I am just privileged to be a vessel in his hands.

Don't worry yourself about the platform of manifestation. The world has an expectation of someone who has 'arrived'; God has a different view. You only arrive when God has brought you there, not when you have arranged it. Who is the inspiration behind your present pursuit? His time of favour is here.
