For this reason I am telling you, whatever things you ask for in prayer [in accordance with God’s will], believe [with confident trust] that you have received them, and they will be given to you. MARK 11:24 AMP
That’s why I urge you to pray for absolutely everything, ranging from small to large. Include everything as you embrace this God-life, and you’ll get God’s everything. Mark 11: 24 MSG
Two versions of the same Scripture, and with the deep things of God revealed. First there must be an asking, not a murmuring, complaining or grumbling about an issue to anyone. It is important that I ask God for whatever I want, not talk to men about it first. When I place men ahead of God, I make him a second option or an alternative. He is the only One who can give me all I need, so I must ask aright.
Secondly, my asking must be in prayer. It sounds ordinary, but I believe God considers it important. Do I go to God in daily devotion, ASKing for his will and purpose for my life, SEEKing his direction for my activities, and KNOCKing on his door of favour daily? Is it a daily walk or a seasonal experience?
God's will is the paramount consideration, not my needs. This is hard, but it is the only way to getting God on your side. When I pray, I must settle my heart on obedience to his will and direction. God never takes away our choice of freewill, but he knows that our lives will only make impact when we are aligned with his will. He keeps his eyes on the future, so that today will align with his plans for tomorrow. I therefore rest in that knowledge, because I know I am safe in his will.
Faith is the key ingredient in getting what I ask for, seek or knock at. There is nothing as interesting as holding on to God for daily sustenance, knowing that bank balances, houses or possessions are not the insurance, but God's presence and promises to you are.
When all are aligned, you are guaranteed answers. God is a Father with deep love for his children, and he can move heaven and earth for their sake. Am I his child? Have I surrendered control to Him? Am I holding on to the false assurances of the temporal and the physical? Time will destroy all these; God alone lasts forever. His time of favour is here.
