Persistence in Prayer 2

For everyone who keeps on asking receives, and he who keeps on seeking finds, and to him who keeps on knocking, it will be opened. MATTHEW 7:8 AMP

Following from yesterday's extract, all who know God are mandated to ask him for anything. God has already stated categorically in 2 Peter 1:3 ASV that " .....his divine power hath granted unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness...." It then follows that asking God does not catch him by surprise, and he does not have to go looking for provision. All I need had been put in place long before I was born or before I ever even dreamt of the need.

Asking is a choice. We could murmur, grumble, complain or talk to a friend about our predicament, but for effective and conclusive solutions to our problems, God has laid down just one sure way that works, and that is by asking Him. How you ask also determines how and what you get. Our key word yesterday was "Relationship". When I know and love God, his desires will be my utmost pursuits. When I know and love God, my priorities take second place to his purpose. When I know and love God, my requests and desires are such that will advance his purpose and not my own priorities.

So, ask, seek and knock. The promise is for EVERYONE, and excludes nobody, unless you have excluded  yourself. Science teaches that for all actions, there is an equal and opposite reaction. The same is true for our spiritual walk too. Ask for anything in His name, he is bound by his name to do all he has promised. Seek his will, purpose and kingdom and watch him move mountains on your behalf. Knock on the doors of opportunity, favour and provision that he leads you to, and see how he places before you open doors that no man, dead or alive, can shut. I must keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking. My relationship with God is the key that unlocks the vast potential that is available for me in Christ. Nothing else will work. His time of favour is here.
