You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13 NIV
Until a man knows that there is a lack in him that only God can fill, he cannot be helped. Until a man knows that there is a vacuum in his heart that no activity, possession or position can adequately fill, that man will struggle to truly impact the world the way God intends. Acknowledging a need for God is the key to seeking Him. If you don't need Him, you won't go looking for Him.
And God gives an assurance to all who seek Him that they will find Him. Is He lost? No, but the greatest treasures of God are not found on the surface, available to be plucked at will and without much effort. God is not my everyday buddy, who indulges my every whim. He is the Lord Almighty, the creator of heaven and the earth. If you will go looking for Him, you had better go with the right heart and intentions.
And that right intention is reflected in seeking God with ALL the heart. God cannot stand half hearted devotion; He has made that very clear in His Word. He says He will spew out of His mouth those who are lukewarm. It does not matter how people praise you; it matters little how much applause you earn. In the eventual analysis, all that counts is how much of God you made room for in your life. Don't offer God halfhearted devotion; don't give God less than the best He deserves, which is all of you. So, how much of you does God have and control? How much of Him do you consider important? His time of favour is here
