Right Account

I've banked your promises in the vault of my heart so I won’t sin myself bankrupt.
Psalm 119:11 MSG

Just in case you don't know where the extract above came from, let me share the familiar version with you: Your word I have treasured and stored in my heart, That I may not sin against You. PSA 119:11 AMP

Some key words jump out: God's Word can be BANKED or stored up. God's word is a treasure, invaluable and limitless, and your treatment of it determines the value of your life. When you are guided by its precepts and directives, your life will make impact. When you ignore its warnings and admonitions, you place little or no value on your life.

Your heart is a VAULT, where things of value are kept. Your heart always reveals what you consider important to you. If your life produces evil, then what you value becomes obvious. If your life produces good, it is also obvious what you have spent time storing up. A combination of what you value and the place where the valuables are kept reveal the real YOU. You can only hide the real you for a short while, the truth is just a matter of time.

Why are the contents of storage and the place of storage so important? Because eternity is at stake. The reason why I must watch the contents of my account is I have an understanding of who God is and what he likes. As I study his Word, value his Word, store up his Word and live by His Word, I know what to avoid and what to do to please God. Sin brings eternal separation from God if I do not repent from it, and God does not desire the death of any sinner.

I must therefore watch my values and priorities today. What is in my account? Am I deficient in the right contents? It is not too late to get it right. Am I storing up the right contents? I must keep at it, living and doing right. God is pleased with a life filled with the right contents, and he will make that life a blessing to its generation. What will it be for you? His time of favour is here.
