For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: As free, and not using your liberty for a cloak of maliciousness, but as the servants of God. 1 Peter 2:15-16 KJV
Truths:
1. It is also God's will that my life is a living, breathing testimony to the greatness and glory of God. People are watching daily, seeking worthy examples of virtue and grace, and it is expedient that if I claim to know God, my life must reflect his Life.
2. People are watching daily and will hold you up to your confession. People know the standards, but do not have the inner Presence and Power to live by those standards. It is the Presence of the Holy Spirit that helps a man keep true to what he has confessed, and it is this same Spirit that convicts the hearts of men. I just have to live true to what I have confessed; God knows how to use the conviction of my life to convict the life of someone else. Am I true to what I have confessed? Does my life profession match up with my mouth confession?
3. I have been set free, not to live as I please, but empowered to live as God pleases. My freedom is in God, not in myself. My freedom was secured by God and I must live my whole life seeking his will and seeking to please him. That is the spirit of servant-hood. No servant determines by himself when he wants to work, how he wants to work or where he wants to work. All these are determined by the master himself.
Am I listening to God and watching out for his directives or have I formed a mind of my own? Am I living to please the master, or have I become my own master? Am I truly living free, living right and living as God directs, or am I subjecting myself again to the dictates of Satan, sin and self? His time of favour is here.
