Real Victory

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin [by which it brings death] is the law; but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory [as conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 CORINTHIANS 15:57- 58 AMP

The fall of man in the Garden of Eden paved the way for sin to operate in and rule over the world. God had given man so much room in the garden, and had spelt out the terms of engagement. Man was to work, live well and relate with God, while keeping away from the things that could destroy that relationship. You would think it was that easy. Since the fall, man has consistently shown that obeying laws is difficult. Man has always shown a propensity for rebellion and disobedience. Through that act of disobedience by Adam, sin has been given power to rule the world as well as its inhabitants. Only in Christ is there freedom from the power of sin and the strength of the law.

God, who had foreseen that man could not help himself had devised a means for man's restoration. He gave his one and only son as the propitiation for our sins. Jesus shed his blood as the perfect antidote for the poison of sin and through him, we come into a new standing with God.

However, like everything God does, we must make a conscious decision to accept the gift. It has been given to the whole world, but only those who take up the offer, and accept the life offered by Christ, will fully enjoy the benefits on offer. The gift is available, life is available, hope is available, and death and eternal damnation are also available choices. It is your choice; how would you play it? His time of favour is here.
