In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [draw your strength from Him and be empowered through your union with Him] and in the power of His [boundless] might.
EPHESIANS 6:10 AMP
After encouraging various classes of people, including children, parents and servants, he concludes with the extract above. Why is my source of strength important? This is because whoever is holding me up will determine how far I would go. It does not matter how well I have read the situation, or how prepared I am for the challenges of life; I can't know more about tomorrow than the One who created it, therefore I need to consult the author/creator if I am to navigate properly.
Strength can be sourced from various places: man has found inspiration from power, position, possessions, privilege, and others. Some have found strength from false tokens, trusting in men's lies and placing their hopes on things that cannot save. The word for today is: 'be strong in the Lord'. You cannot be strong anywhere else or by any other means. Nobody can provide you with the resources you need or the inner core of courage that you need to face life's challenges. These are bound to come, but whether you stand or fall is dependent on your inner core, the One who is holding you up.
You are empowered in union with Christ, not outside of him. You only matter when he is all that matters to you. His strength and might are available for all who will come to him as they are, conscious of their inabilities but full aware that God can deliver.
What would it be for me? Would I trust completely or do I want to try other options first? He is waiting, arms open wide, to receive me, if I only trust him completely and give him all I am. His time of favour is here.
