STOP! No Worrying

“So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
MATTHEW 6:34 AMP

I am once again reminded of the futility of worrying about tomorrow. It has become obvious that there is nothing I can do to change what is happening presently, or what may still happen, but the one thing that is expected of me is what has been outlined in the verse before today's extract: "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His Righteousness".

The world has created an image of success and led us to think that you cannot be reckoned with unless you conform to that image. Men are on a constant pursuit of 'success', not even sure how it is defined, when they have had it, or what it looks like. We just keep running, pursuing and fretting. Today's extract encourages us not to worry about tomorrow. Very easy to say, but the realities facing us daily prevent us from taking God at his Word. We want the convenient, the comfortable and the predictable, but what would be the basis of faith if all we desired was  predictable?

It is a walk of faith, a race of faith and a fight of faith. There are times when it will look like stupidity to keep holding on, but hold on all the same. There are times when letting go and giving in will look like good options, but stay the course. God has so planned it that every day's provision has been keyed into it, so all you have to do is to show up. If God wants you to have it because it is tied to his vision for your life, he will provide it. If it is not, no matter how hard you try, you won't get it, and if you get it by foul means, it won't do you any good.

So, I leave the uncertainties to God to sort out. I trust him in the present and for the future, knowing that he is able to do all he has promised. What of you? His time of favour is here.
