Right Connections!

Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?  Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. John 14:22‭-‬23 KJV

What you get from God is a reflection of your connection with him. From the story of creation, God has always been big on relationship and connection with man, his greatest creation. He wants to sit with us, talk with us, cry and laugh with us, because he created us and identifies with us in all experiences. However, just as it was in Eden, we must make a choice: respond or reject.

A disciple, not Judas Iscariot, wondered why Jesus would reveal himself to his disciples, and not to the whole world. The key word for me is "US"- those who followed Jesus closely and truthfully, seeking his perfect will for them and content to trust him, no matter what happens. Even among the disciples was Judas Iscariot, a disciple by name but a thief by nature, and who missed out on the amazing promises made here. It goes beyond being called the right names or doing the right works; does Jesus know you as his own?

Jesus' response is instructive: IF a man loves me...... It is a choice still. I must decide what is important to me and pursue it wholeheartedly. My choice determines my pursuits and priorities. Love for Christ equals obedience and is rewarded with the abiding Presence of God himself. This is deep. Imagine the King of the universe making his 'permanent' residence in your heart. You only rent out a space which you do not intend to stay in beyond a certain period. The Trinity will dwell where the heart is right, not where there are uncertainties, doubt and double standards.

So, how's your heart? What are its present priorities and pursuits? Can Christ find your heart a conducive place to stay? His time of favour is here.
