Get the Son!

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.
John 3:36 NIV

Can we indeed be selective about what we believe about God? Can I pick and choose what I want to believe, while i reject every other inconvenient truth? If I really want to have a full and complete life, what is fundamental is to first uncover the sincerity and truth of the person making promises or making statements, and test if he is trustworthy or not. When I have settled that, then I can stand by whatever decisions I make.

I believe God is the Creator of the whole universe. Everything I see around me points to the wisdom and craftsmanship of superior wisdom. I believe God is the sustainer of all that has been created. We sow, and reap later, not knowing how the process of growth and increase occurs,  but yet, the cycle continues. I believe that God gives life. Everyone existing on earth was made from a mold known only to God, and with all  the knowledge and 'wisdom' circulating everywhere, man has still not be able to make an exact clone/representation of himself. I also believe that God can take life, after all, if it belonged to him in the first place, then he can choose when it will end.

If i accept the truths above, can i then doubt what today's extract says? If the owner of life says that true life is found in his Son, do I have a superior argument against this assertion? It is not enough to know about the Son, or to have heard about him. The distinction is that you must 'believe in' the Son. Life has been offered fully and freely, and the gift still keeps on giving. It will not be withdrawn until it is fully withdrawn and all men would have to give account on their decision about the gift.

True Love will not let you go without reminding you again of the futility of this life. We acquire possessions, yet cannot possess eternal life outside the Son. We strive for position, yet do not bother about our eternal position. We labour for power and impact  here on earth, forgetting that it profits a man nothing if he gains the whole world yet loses his own soul.

God calls out today in love now, reminding us to accept his gift. He is Life, and all who come to him receive life in abundance, both for this present phase and the one to come. His time of favour is here.
