If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. 1 John 4:15 NIV
What it takes is first a heart that believes that Jesus is the Son of God. If I do not believe anything, I can at least believe the testimony of the One who calls himself God and has provided testimony about the One called Christ. In one place, heaven opened and God publicly declared: 'This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased'. At other times, men and women had met with this man, and the clear conviction is that indeed, this is God's son.
Our greatest asset is our brain, but it could also be our greatest limitation. Most times, we strive to explain certain things with our thinking abilities, forgetting that what is created can NEVER understand the purpose, logic or reason of the Creator, without seeking to know more from the Creator himself. If I must know and understand the reason why I am, or my place in the scheme of things, I can only find out that truth from God, the Creator.
So, it all starts with the heart. It searches, it questions, it seeks to discover and understand. If it does it right, it will find out that without a doubt, God is who he says he is and he can do all he has said he can do. When the heart has found the truth, it must just acknowledge that indeed Jesus is the Son of God. Any discovery that nullifies that truth cannot be from the God who says Jesus is his Son. Of course, the heart, mouth and life can never be in disagreement for a long time. What the heart believes is what the mouth speaks, and it is what the life produces. You can only pretend for a while or try to deceive others for a while; eventually the truth of your heart's condition will manifest. When you believe and confess right, God dwells in you and reveals more of himself to you. The greatest discovery in life is that of purpose and it can never be done outside the One who designed the life and determined its purpose.
What do you believe? What are you holding on to: truth or other options? His time of favour is here.
