Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified or dismayed (intimidated), for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” JOSHUA 1:9 AMP
How far you go in life will depend in the One at whose command you do whatever you do. Life has many masters and commanders, with many of them seeking to enslave and oppress. God is also a master, because he demands obedience from all who will come to him. However, he is not like the world's masters, who take all and give nothing back, but he will support, uphold and strengthen.
He tells Joshua: "Have I not commanded you". Same question goes to you and I. Who's your commanding officer? Who gives you instructions? Who determines the course of your day, week, month, year and life? Trust God on this: you need him on this life's journey. So many things will happen; terrible things may come. Pain is a part of this life, so also loss and disappointment. But when the fundamentals are settled, then it does not matter what comes; as long as God is with you, every other thing will work out well in the end.
So, as I journey on, I ask God to be with me. Nothing in this life is certain; only his Presence is sure. When that is guaranteed, then I have no fear for the future. His time of favour is here.
